Italian 4 Syllabus

The students will be introduced to new concepts of grammar, while continuing to emphasize listening, reading and writing skills.  This course will continue to work on vocabulary building as well.

Aspects of Italian History
  • Elements of various historical periods commencing with the founding of Rome and ending with contemporary Italy.
  • Introduction to Italian immigration to various parts of the world.

Aspects of Italian Literature
  • Concepts taken from various literary movements with emphasis on modern Italian literature.

Aspects of Italian Art and Architecture
  • Concepts taken from various artistic movements commencing with the Renaissance and ending with Italy’s modern artists.
  • An introduction to the architecture found in the various artistic periods.

Aspects of Modern Italian Life
  • Concepts taken from various media sources will be used to discuss life in Italy today.
  • These sources will also serve as the basis for discussion and written assignments.
  • Several major Italian cities will become the focus of lessons dealing with the topic of “Modern Italian Life.”
